Our Story

Four Decades on the Santee Cooper Lakes

Tommy Wolpert began building docks and seawalls on Lake Marion in the 1980s. He worked his way up through crews on the lake until he knew the bottom, the water, and the permitting better than anyone driving in from the coast or the upstate.

In the early 2000s, Tommy started his own marine construction business. He kept the work local, the crew small, and the standards high. His son, Jonah Wolpert, came up on the job โ€” helping from the time he could carry a hammer.

In 2020, Eutaw Construction LLC was formed to carry that work forward as a licensed South Carolina company. Tommy still drives every project. Jonah runs the office, the estimating, and the customer side. His brother Eli works alongside them on the water and in the field. The crew is small on purpose โ€” we do not subcontract to strangers and we do not disappear after the final inspection.

Everything we build is on water we know by name.

Why Eutawville Matters

Locally Based. Locally Answerable.

We Live Here

Our shop and office are at 305 Porcher Avenue, Eutawville โ€” minutes from most project sites on Lake Marion's southern shore.

We Know the Water

Santee Cooper's managed water levels, seasonal draw-down, and stump fields are part of daily life for us โ€” not a surprise on job one.

We Stay After the Job

If a piling settles or hardware loosens, we are a short drive away. Out-of-town contractors cannot say that.

Eli Wolpert

Jonah's brother and part of the crew on the water and in the field. Grew up on the same lake, knows the work the same way.

Our Shop Dog

Every good marine crew needs a first mate. Ours rides along to most job sites on Lake Marion.

Our Approach

How Every Project Starts

  1. Call or request a quote. Tell us what you are thinking โ€” full replacement, new build, seawall, lift, or repair.
  2. Free on-site visit. We walk your waterfront with you, measure, and look at bottom conditions.
  3. Written quote. Clear scope, materials, and price. No surprises mid-project.
  4. Permits. We prepare the SCDHEC / Santee Cooper paperwork when the project needs it.
  5. Build. Our crew handles the work. We communicate through the schedule.
  6. Walk-through. You inspect the finished work before final payment.
